Ingredients:

• 2 – 4 tsp-pepper powder (approx.).
• 1.5 cups-toor dal (cooked).
• 1 tsp- Brown sugar or jaggery.
• salt.
• 1 tsp each- Mustard Seeds and jeera.
• 1 tsp- Tamarind paste.

Method:

  1. Heat a tbsp of oil in a vessel and add mustard and jeera to it. When the mustard seeds start to crackle, add the toor dal and some water.
  2. Now make a paste of tamarind, pepper powder and salt with a little hot water.
  3. Add it to the tuvar dal and stir well.
  4. Now, add the brown sugar, chopped cilantro and boil well.
  5. Also, if desired add lime juice.
  6. Drink as soup or mix with plain rice.
