
Ingredients:
• Tamarind – 100 g
• Seedless Dates – 100 g
• Jaggery – 150 g
• Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
• Fennel (saunf) powder – 1/2 tsp
• Cumins powder – 1 tsp
• Dry Ginger powder – 1/2 tsp
• Black salt – 1/2 tsp
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Soak tamarind in 2 cups of water and extract the juice.
- Chop the dates and grind to a smooth paste, using some of the tamarind extract.
- Add the dates to the remaining extract.
- Heat the extract in a pan and add jaggery. Cook stirring till jaggery is dissolved.
- Increase the heat and boil till the extract thickens.
- Remove from fire and stir in the other ingredients.
- Serve this sweet-sour chutney with samosas, kachori or pakodas.
