Ingredients:

• Moong dal – 1 cup
• Channa dal – 1/2 cup
• Mixed Vegetables – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
• Onions – 1 medium (finely chopped)
• Green chillies – 3-4 (finely chopped)
• Ginger paste (fresh) – 1 tsp
• Curry leaves – 7-8.
• Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (roughly chopped)
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Red Chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Coriander powder – 1 tsp
• Salt
• Oil – To deep fry.

Method:

  1. Wash and soak the two dals for 4-5 hours.
  2. Grind them coarsely.
  3. Add onions, chillies, vegetables, powder masala, salt and green leaves to the batter and mix them.
  4. Heat oil in the kadai and make small round balls. Flatten with your fingers in to a vadai shape.
  5. Deep-fry them on medium flame until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot.
