Ingredients:
• 1 cup (200 ml) – water
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 1/2 tsp – Jeera (cumin seeds) powder
• 1/4 tsp – Fenugreek powder (methi / uluva podi)
• 1/4 tsp – fennel powder or 1/2 tsp – Fennel seeds
• 1 chopped Onion
• 6 Cloves -chopped Garlic
• 1/2 tsp – chopped Ginger
• 1 Cinnamon stick
• 1 sprig Curry leaves
• 1 Bay Leaf
• Salt to taste
• A pinch of Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – Lemon grass (optional)
• 75 ml – thick Coconut Milk
• 2 tsp – Lemon juice
Method:
- Cover and boil water with all the other ingredients except coconut milk and lemon juice for 15 minutes.
- Switch off the heat. Keep aside to cool for 15 minutes.
- Finally add coconut milk and lemon juice.
- Serve with idiyappam (string hoppers)/ghee rice/plain rice.
