Ingredients:

• 1 – onion.
• 1 – potato.
• 1 – green chilli.
• 1 – tomato.
• 1/4 tsp – cumin seed.
• 1/4 tsp – mustard seed.
• 4 slices – bread.
• a few grains – Cashew nuts and raisins.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1/2 tsp – garam masala.
• 1 tsp – vegetable oil.
• salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Chop onion, potato and tomato into small pieces and keep them separately.
  2. Cut the green chilli into fine pieces.
  3. Cut the bread slices into small pieces of about 1cm x 1cm.
  4. Warm a fry pan over low heat and put some oil. When the oil is hot, put the cumin and mustard seeds and fry well.
  5. Add the chopped chillies and fry with medium heat. Then add the chopped onions and fry till it turns red.
  6. Add the chopped potato and fry well. Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and stir well.
  7. Then add the chopped tomato and cook for 2-3 mins stirring constantly. Add salt to taste. Then add the garam masala powder and mix that well.
  8. Add the cashew nuts, raisins and the bread pieces and stir well. Leave for 2-3 mins over medium heat stirring intermittently and your bread upma is ready for breakfast.
  9. You can add some sev or mixture for better taste.
