
Ingredients:
• 1 – onion.
• 1 – potato.
• 1 – green chilli.
• 1 – tomato.
• 1/4 tsp – cumin seed.
• 1/4 tsp – mustard seed.
• 4 slices – bread.
• a few grains – Cashew nuts and raisins.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 1/2 tsp – garam masala.
• 1 tsp – vegetable oil.
• salt to taste.
Method:
- Chop onion, potato and tomato into small pieces and keep them separately.
- Cut the green chilli into fine pieces.
- Cut the bread slices into small pieces of about 1cm x 1cm.
- Warm a fry pan over low heat and put some oil. When the oil is hot, put the cumin and mustard seeds and fry well.
- Add the chopped chillies and fry with medium heat. Then add the chopped onions and fry till it turns red.
- Add the chopped potato and fry well. Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder and stir well.
- Then add the chopped tomato and cook for 2-3 mins stirring constantly. Add salt to taste. Then add the garam masala powder and mix that well.
- Add the cashew nuts, raisins and the bread pieces and stir well. Leave for 2-3 mins over medium heat stirring intermittently and your bread upma is ready for breakfast.
- You can add some sev or mixture for better taste.
