Ingredients:

• 1 bunch – Spinach.
• 1/4 cup – green Gram Dal.
• 2 – small red chillies.
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds.
• 1/2 tsp – Black Gram Dal (or) 1/2 tsp – Cumin Seeds.
• 1 tbsp – oil.
• A Pinch of Asafoetida (hing).
• Salt to taste|

Method:

  1. Soak green-gram dal in water for 15 minutes.
  2. Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly. No need to chop the leaves.
  3. Pressure cook the dal and leaves for 10-15 minutes without water.
  4. Wait till the steam is released before opening the cooker.
  5. Mash the cooked dal and leaves.
  6. Add oil in a pan.
  7. When hot, add mustard seeds. Wait till it splutters, add black gram or cumin, red chillies and asafoetida.
  8. When brown, add it to the spinach.
  9. Add the required salt and serve.
